Tsuyoi vs Kaiji (Tournament of Strength)

At the core of the Pit the stadium is packed with various mutants. The more hideously deformed and monstrous mutants sit in the front row clamoring for blood while the somewhat more humanoid mutants watch from far away in the higher rows. Numerous vendors hawk various snacks of an ultimately vile nature such as viscera and fried hide. Kaiji's friends are sitting in one of the close-up rows and are howling up a storm. They hoot all manners of insults and intimidating comments regarding the mysterious stranger opposing Kaiji while hyping up his incredible combat abilities. The loud cacophony of gamblers, fans, and ravenous beasts is cut silent by a mighty reverberating gong that echoes through the Pit. The Obsidan Samurai and the Azure Magister, the current regents of the Pit and the referees of the tournament, step out onto the battlefield. With a booming voice, the colossal samurai proclaims "Hail, citizens of the Pit! We are gathered here today to enact that most important of rituals! A ceremonial duel to determine the new Shogun of our free lands!". The Azure Magister, a comparitively mundane and unassuming man (for a mutant), procedes "Indeed, we have come here to decide upon the future ruler of our independent city. Here we shall take the first steps into the future of the Pit! Come forth challengers and show the people that you are worthy to command them!". The two administrators give the crowd a bow before ascending the rows until they reach the very top of the stadium. From their they observe the proceeding fight.

Tsuyoi and Kaiji are each lead into the abandoned sewers of the Pit. The labyrinthian ruins curve and wind like a hydra's many heads. The chaotic layout of the cavern appears to stretch on forever until each reaches a separate door leading out of the sewers. Beyond the door is a long vertical shaft. Hanging suspended in the midst of the shaft is a cage hanging from a long rusty chain. Below the cage is a deep and dark abyss. The two can feel cold salty winds emanating from the deep caverns yet before they can think about it too much they are hurried into the cages hastily. The cages are locked by assistants. Suddenly they hear the jangling of chains and the grinding of gears as they are lifted up out of the humid salty darkness and into the bright arid environs of the arena. The light is blinding at first yet after a while each sees their opponent standing across from them. With a sudden gong, the fight has begun!

Tsuyoi swaggers out of his cave, looking his foe up and down, and then glancing around the arena. With a smirk, he addresses the crowd, "Hello freakshows, and rust! This'll be over in a minute." Tsuyoi turns to Kaiji, and cocks a brow, "And you're crocodile? You just look like an ugly man to me," he says.

Kaiji "Crocodile" steps out of his cage, looking around at the cheering crowd. Basking in the applause, Kaiji calls out "Who's ready for some fresh meat? I'm buying?" He grips his linen shirt and rips it off his chest, exposing more of his scabby scaled skin and muscular pecs and washboard abs. "Kyaaa!" he yells as he flexes his biceps. He looks Tsuyoi up and down, "You picked the wrong tournament to try your luck in, little man, 'cus Kaiji 'Crocodile' don't go easy on wimps. Ha ha ha!" He crouches down and flexes his thighs, gearing to rush his opponent.

Tsuyoi beckons Kaiji, before folding his arms. "Go ahead then 'Crocodile', and remember not to go easy on me," he says as he smirks. Tsuyoi projects an invisible telekinetic barrier about three feet in front of him, between himself and Kaiji. The only indication of him doing it is the vein on the indent on the left side of his forehead beginning to swell.

"You asked for it!" Kaiji tenses his muscles and begins sprinting towards Tsuyoi. His feet pound into the ground, his thick yellow toenails digging into the dirt to provide just a tad extra spring in his steps. "Here I come!"
The sunlight glistens lightly off his skin, as the distance between him and his foe rapidly decreases: 100 feet, 70 feet, 30 feet, 10 feet. All the while, his drinking buddies cheer him on in the stands, "You've got him, mate," "Do him in, man!" "If you win, I'll buy you as many drinks as you can stomach." With the added conviction, Kaiji only doubles his effort, increasing his speed. He leans his upper body forward, preparing for a full body tackle at full force.
Completely unaware of the telekinetic barrier, Kaiji rams himself into the wall like a freight train into a steel barrier. With the amount of force he had put into his tackle, and having bent down, his head is the first to impact the wall. His neck taking the full force of the reverberating force, his neck makes a sickening "SNAP!" sound, and he collapses, his body not moving.

Tsuyoi's vein pops as Kaiji smashes into his barrier, but otherwise, he doesn't budge. He stares at the corpse of Crocodile, and shakes his head, "I should've figured you were just rust," he mutters, as he turns to the crowd. In a single motion, Tsuyoi propels himself into the crowd, right next to Kaiji's drinking buddies. He sits next to the them casually, and remarks with a shit-eating grin, "I'll take you up on those drinks."

The samurai looks down upon the limp corpse of Kaiji in disappointment. "Yet another young life ended as a result of wasteful ambition. Some should simply come to terms with their limitations," he mutters under his breath. The samurai lifts his sword in the air and lets out a sickening screech that silences the crowd. "Tsuyoi wins the first round of the tournament. Come forth and take your reward!" he commands. The Azure Magister steps forward and presents a bronze scepter for Tsuyoi.

Tsuyoi steps forward, and accepts the scepter with a non-nonchalant shrug. He's seen scratching his back with it as he returns to the stands.

While the samurai wears a mask covering his face he gives Tsuyoi a disapproving glare before exiting the arena. The Azure Magister looks quite amused and gives the samurai a wry smirk. "I suppose it is to be expected that a man with half his brains scooped out would act like a complete and utter ignoramus. Though I have to say, perhaps you're the one with a dent in his head if you thought that foreigner would respect our traditions." he haughtily chides the samurai. The two proceed to exit the stadium and a few moments after they do the crowd pours out into the surrounding confines of the Pit. Over the next few days, the mysterious powers of the man from out of town are the main subject of gossip and rumor among the people of the Pit.
